A positive mindset: You can only control your efforts in life, you cannot control the outcomes.
It often happens we get down on ourselves, during or after a match because things aren’t going or didn’t turn out the way we wanted them to. At these very moments we lose control over our emotions and often our performance, and it is very hard to regain that control. Here are some tips for your training, match and everyday habits.
Never lose faith in yourself. Just do your best every day, every session and every match. That’s all you need to worry about. Don’t set your expectations so high that when you fail to realize them you become frustrated. The only thing to focus on is your efforts. All you can control is how hard you work in the pursuit of your dream. That’s all you need to focus on. When you persist and never give up, life eventually rewards you with success!
Do not allow the outcome of a rally to rule your emotions for the rest of the game or the match.
Take one squash rally at a time, and give it everything you have. If the previous rally didn’t work out, put new and positive energy in the next one, with self-confidence and BELIEF.
Don’t lose faith in yourself. Pursue your goals, with 100% positive energy, every time again. Don’t look back. Look ahead of you. You will eventually get rewarded.
